Winter Song Concert - 7 December 2011
The Guildford concert was held at The Salvation Army Hall and raised money for the Salvation Army, Guildford.
Both concerts were very successful and thoroughly enjoyed by the large audiences and the choirs. A great start to the Christmas festivities.
'A Hundred Voices' Concert - Reading Concert Hall -
26 November 2011
This was our major concert of the year where the combined Remix Voices choirs from Reading and Surrey sang together in an exciting evening of modern popular music from the 1960's to the present day. The concert line up also included 'Remixtures' vocal group, Choir Remix 'A Cappella Singers' and Dave Smith, guitarist, who played some of his own compositions.
We were very pleased to support the Air Ambulance - Berks, Oxon, Bucks, at the concert and had a retiring collection for them which raised £621.
The concert was the highlight of the year for all the Remix Voices choirs and was enthusiastically received by a sell-out audience. The high spot of the evening was when 150 voices joined together to sing well known songs but, in particular a song called 'A Hundred Voices' which was written especially for Remix Voices by Dave Smith, our musical director, and Sally Webster, one of our singers.
Remix Voices choirs do their own performances in each choir but also join together for concerts such as this one, giving the singers a feeling of belonging to one big choir. We look forward to the next joint venture.
End Of Term Concerts - July 2011
Five end of term concerts were held during the second week in July when singers were asked to bring friends and family to support them. All the evening concerts and the morning one were very successful and thoroughly enjoyed by our friendly audiences. These were the first occasions when our latest song, 'Where Do I Go From Here' originally sung by the Carpenters, was performed at some of the concerts, and which featured a soloist in the various choirs.
Mortimer Fun Day, Reading - 2 July 2011
Our Reading choir performed at Mortimer Fun Day at the beginning of July on a beautiful summer's day. We sang in the morning so we had a small audience but we were greatly appreciated by the people who were there. We had a little competition from the dog show which was going on in the background but it all added to the challenge of an outdoor booking! Thanks to the organisers for inviting us to sing on that day.
Shannon Court - 26 June 2011
Singers from the Remix Voices choirs in Godalming, Guildford and Woking, performed on the hottest day in the year so far in the lovely setting of Shannon Court Care Home. The occasion was their annual Garden Party and we entertained the audience from the shade of a gazebo with many of our favourite songs. All the singers thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and were pleased to contribute towards the success of the day. We would like to thank Shannon Court for inviting us to sing at their event.
Godalming Bandstand - 19 June 2011
We performed at Godalming Bandstand on Sunday, 19 June, as one of the Music in the Park events. About 100 singers crowded on to the Bandstand and entertained the audience, who braved the changeable weather, with a selection of our favourite songs, including the first performance of Remix Voices' very own song 'A Hundred Voices'.
This concert brought together singers from all the Surrey choirs in Godalming, Guildford and Woking.
Rhoda McGaw Theatre, Woking - 16 to 19 March 2011
All of the Remix Voices choirs from Surrey combined to sing in this popular run of concerts at the Rhoda McGaw Theatre in Woking. Remix Voices were joined by Remixtures, Choir Remix and Dave Smith playing the guitar.
Charities that we supported with these concerts were:-
